Part 1 : Coffee Machine Solenoid Valve Features
1.1 : High-precision control
The coffee machine solenoid valve can achieve precise control of various actions inside the coffee machine. By changing the current size or power-on time of the solenoid valve, the opening of the valve can be accurately controlled, so that the error of the amount of water for each coffee brewing can be controlled within a very small range. This ensures the stability of the concentration and taste of the coffee, meeting the requirements of different users for coffee quality.
During the coffee making process, the extraction pressure can also be controlled. Appropriate extraction pressure is crucial for the extraction of coffee flavor substances. The solenoid valve can accurately control the pressure according to the preset program and parameters to ensure that the coffee powder can be evenly and fully
1.2: Quick response
When the coffee machine starts the coffee making program, the solenoid valve will respond in a short moment. Once the power is turned on, the magnetic field generated by the solenoid valve can quickly drive the movement of related mechanical parts.
This fast response feature is particularly important for making espresso and other coffee types that have strict time and process requirements. Because the production process of espresso usually requires high-pressure extraction in a short time, the fast response of the solenoid valve can ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the extraction process.
1.3: Compact structure
The space inside the coffee machine is usually limited, and the structural design of the solenoid valve adapts to this space requirement. It is relatively small and can be easily installed between various parts of the coffee machine, such as near the water pump, valve and brewing head.
Its compact structure does not occupy too much space inside the coffee machine, nor does it interfere with the layout and installation of other parts. This allows the overall design of the coffee machine to be more reasonable and integrate more functions in a limited space. For example, some small home coffee machines can achieve a variety of complex coffee making functions by using compact solenoid valves while maintaining a small appearance.
1.4: High reliability
Coffee machine solenoid valves are generally made of high-quality materials, such as high-quality solenoid copper coils and wear-resistant core materials. These materials can ensure that the solenoid valves maintain stable performance during long-term and frequent use.
Its manufacturing process is also relatively advanced, which can effectively prevent component damage and performance degradation. For example, the solenoid coils are specially insulated to resist the humid environment that may occur during coffee making, avoiding faults such as short circuits. Under normal use, the service life of the coffee machine solenoid valve can reach thousands of or even more operating cycles, providing a guarantee for the long-term stable operation of the coffee machine.
1.5: High safety
When the solenoid valve is powered off, its magnetism will disappear immediately, which is a very important safety feature. After a coffee machine failure (such as a power outage) or a normal shutdown procedure, the components related to the solenoid valve (such as valves) will quickly return to their initial safe state. This automatic recovery to a safe state feature makes the operation of coffee machines safer and more reliable.
Part 2 : Coffee Machine solenoid valve Application
2.1 Control water flow: In the water inlet system of the coffee machine, the solenoid valve is used to control whether the water in the water tank flows into the coffee machine and to control the flow rate of water. By accurately controlling the on-off and flow rate of the water flow, the amount of water used for each coffee brewing is ensured to be just right, thereby ensuring the concentration and taste of the coffee.
2.2: Regulate steam: In the process of generating steam, the solenoid valve can control the generation and release of steam.
2.3: Grinding system: solenoid valves are also used in the grinding system of some coffee machines, such as the solenoid valve knocking technology in the Yum! BAE-03 coffee machine, which can ensure seamless cleaning of residual powder, keep the inside of the machine clean and tidy after each grinding, extend the service life of the coffee machine, and also help improve grinding efficiency and coffee taste.
Part 3 : Common problem and solutions to the coffee machine solenoid valve :
3.1 : solenoid valve does not work
Causes of fault:
Power supply problem: The power supply voltage is too low or too high, or the power plug is not plugged in properly, the power cord is broken, etc., which may cause the solenoid valve to not get normal power supply and not work.
Coil fault: After long-term use, the solenoid coil may be short-circuited, open-circuited or damaged in insulation, so that the solenoid valve cannot generate a magnetic field.
Iron core jamming: Dust, debris may accumulate around the iron core, or it may be jammed due to rust, etc., and it cannot be attracted normally.
The reaction spring is too hard: The elastic force of the reaction spring is too large, which exceeds the suction force of the solenoid valve, so that the iron core cannot be attracted5.
3.2 Solution:
Check the power supply: Use a multimeter to check whether the power supply voltage is within the specified range, ensure that the plug is plugged in tightly, and the power cord is not broken. If there is a problem, adjust the power supply voltage or replace the power cord.
Detect the coil: Use a multimeter to detect the resistance and insulation of the coil. If the coil is found to be open, short-circuited or the insulation is damaged, the solenoid valve coil should be replaced.
Clean the iron core: Disassemble the solenoid valve, clean the debris, dust and rust around the iron core, and ensure that the iron core can move freely.
Replace the spring: Check the elastic force of the reaction spring. If the elastic force is too large, replace the appropriate spring.
The solenoid valve is weak to attract
3.3 Cause of the fault:
Insufficient power supply voltage: The power supply voltage is lower than the rated voltage of the solenoid valve , resulting in insufficient suction.
Insufficient coil turns or excessive resistance: Too few coil turns or too large resistance will reduce the current passing through the coil, thereby reducing the suction force of the solenoid valve.
Excessive gap between the core and the armature: Too large a gap between the core and the armature will weaken the magnetic field, resulting in insufficient suction.
Dirt on the core surface: Dirt on the core surface will affect the transmission of the magnetic field and reduce the suction force of the solenoid valve .
3.4 Solution:
Adjust the power supply voltage: Check the power supply voltage to ensure that it is within the rated voltage range of the solenoid valve. If the voltage is insufficient, adjust the power supply or replace the power supply .
Replace the coil: Check the number of turns and resistance of the coil. If it does not meet the requirements, replace the appropriate coil .
Adjust the core gap: Adjust the gap between the core and the armature to be within the specified range. This can be achieved by fine-tuning the installation position or adding gaskets .
Clean the core: Clean the dirt on the core surface and keep the core clean. You can wipe it with a clean cloth or solvent .
3.5:solenoid valve overheating
Cause of failure:
The power supply voltage is too high: Too high power supply voltage will cause the current passing through the coil to be too large, causing the coil to heat up .
Too many coil turns or too small resistance: Too many coil turns or too small resistance will cause too much current in the coil and generate too much heat .
Core jamming: Core jamming will increase the current of the solenoid valve when it is working, causing overheating .
Poor heat dissipation: The solenoid valve is installed in a closed or poorly ventilated environment, and the heat cannot be dissipated in time, which will cause overheating.
3.6 : Solution:
Adjust the power supply voltage: Check the power supply voltage. If the voltage is too high, adjust the power supply voltage or replace the appropriate power supply.
Replace the solenoid coil: Check the number of turns and resistance of the coil. If it does not meet the requirements, replace the appropriate solenoid coil.
Clean the iron core: Check whether the iron core is blocked, clean the debris around the iron core, and ensure that the iron core can move freely.
Improve heat dissipation conditions: Install the solenoid valve in a well-ventilated location, or add heat dissipation devices such as heat sinks, fans, etc..
The solenoid valve is noisy
3.7 Cause of failure:
Loose iron core: During the operation of the solenoid valve, the iron core may loosen due to vibration or other reasons, causing noise.
Uneven elastic force of the reaction spring: The uneven elastic force of the reaction spring will cause the iron core to vibrate and make noise during the attraction and release process.
Friction of mechanical parts: Friction between the mechanical parts of the solenoid valve may occur due to wear, poor lubrication, etc., resulting in noise.
3.8 Solution:
Tighten the core: Check if the core is loose. If it is loose, tighten the core to ensure that it is firmly installed .
Replace the spring: Check if the elastic force of the reaction spring is uniform. If it is not uniform, replace the appropriate spring .
Lubricate or replace parts: Check if the mechanical parts of the solenoid valve are rubbing. If there is wear or poor lubrication, lubricate or replace the worn parts .
The solenoid valve cannot be reset after power failure
3.9: Cause of failure:
Failure of reaction spring: The reaction spring may lose its elasticity after long-term use, resulting in the solenoid valve being unable to reset after power failure .
Core jamming: Dust, debris may accumulate around the core, or it may be jammed due to rust, etc., making the solenoid valve unable to reset after power failure.
Reset mechanism failure: The reset mechanism of the solenoid valve may fail, such as damage to the reset spring, jamming of the connecting rod, etc. .
3.10 Solution:
Replace the spring: Check if the reaction spring fails. If it fails, replace the appropriate spring .
Clean the iron core: disassemble the solenoid valve, clean the debris, dust and rust around the iron core, and ensure that the iron core can move freely.
Check the reset mechanism: check whether the reset mechanism is faulty. If it is damaged or stuck, the reset mechanism should be repaired or replaced.
