Design features of exhaust holes of electromagnets/solenoid
Part 1 , What is the function of the exhaust holes ?
During operation, the solenoid will electromagnet generate lot of the air pressure, if the air pressure has not room to exhaust, the temperature of solenoid will be in very hot condition that is not good for the product. Therefore,Push-pull electromagnets/solenoids are generally designed with an exhaust holes. The exhaust hole is designed with a small hole at the rear end of the fixed core to prevent the core from entering a vacuum state when solenoid moving, and the suction force cannot be achieved after power on. Since the fixed core of the push-type electromagnet is not punched, exhaust can be achieved through the gap between the core and the bobbin.
Part 2: benefit of the exhaust hole in electromagnet/solenoid design
2.1. Balance air pressure: During the operation of the electromagnet, air pressure changes will occur inside. The exhaust hole allows air to enter and exit to maintain the balance of air pressure inside and outside.
2.2 Prevent overheating: It helps to dissipate heat, reduce temperature, and avoid the impact of overheating on the performance and life of the electromagnet.
2.3. Reduce noise: When exhausting internal gas, the noise caused by gas accumulation can be reduced.
2.4. Remove moisture: Prevent moisture accumulation and reduce the occurrence of rust and insulation problems.
2.5. Improve reliability: Improve the working stability and reliability of the electromagnet by balancing air pressure and dissipating heat.
2.6 Adapt to environmental changes: enable the electromagnet to better adapt to different working environments and conditions.
Part 3 When designing the exhaust holes, the following factors need to be consideration.
3.1. Holes of the quantity: it depend on the size of the electromagnet and the working conditions.
3.2 Position: with a working sample to check and fix the best position to achieve the exhaust effect.
3.3 Protective measures: Pls make some prevent design to let not the moisture, water entering the electromagnet through the exhaust holes.
Summery:
In short, a reasonable design of the exhaust holes of the electromagnet can improve its performance, reliability and service life. So, when making the solenoid actuator, do consider to set the exhaust holes.
