Principle of Flapper Solenoid: 

A flapper solenoid is made with a copper coil, moving plunger and a special design flap, When the electric current passes through copper coil, the plunger retracts. When the current stops passing, the plunger goes back to the previous position with the help of a spring.

Principle of the starter solenoid:

The starter solenoid is an electromagnet which is actuated to engage the starter motor of an internal engine fixed in the car or the machine. It is normally attached directly to the starter motor which it controls.
The main function is as the inside copper coil of a contactor (a relay designed for large electric currents) which connects the battery to the starter motor proper.

How is the solenoid relay work?

A solenoid relay can get a large electric current from the car/machine battery and a small electric current from the ignition switch. When the ignition switch is turned on, a small electric current is sent through the starter solenoid. This causes the solenoid relay to close a pair of heavy contacts, thus relaying a large electric current through the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion.
The starter motor is a series, compound, or permanent magnet type electric motor with a solenoid and solenoid operated switch mounted on it. When low-current power from the starting battery is applied to the starter solenoid, usually through a key-operated switch, the solenoid closes high-current contacts for the starter motor and it starts to run. Once the engine starts, the key-operated switch is opened and the solenoid opens the contacts to the starter motor.

 What is a Power Solenoid lock?

A Power solenoid lock includes a long piece of copper wire that is wound in the housing.  How an Electromagnetic Brake Works ?

There are two normal types of Electromagnetic Brakes or electromagnetic clutch. “Power On type” ( Magnetically Engaged) and
“Power Off type ” (Spring Engaged). Most brakes (covering different markets) work with Direct Current applied (DC). 24VDC or other DC source is available.

When power is applied on, an Electromagnetic Field is generated. This electromagnetic brake has a normal force
created by the strength of the solenoid coil (magnetic flux) like a DC brushless motor. The force in the case of a “Power Off” brake must be strong enough to overcome a spring force.

In the case of a “Power On” Brake the force created must be strong enough to generate a clamping force engaging friction surfaces to generate torque. In the case of a tooth type brake, strong enough to generate a clamping force to keep tooth faces engaged generating torque.

This series of brakes consists of a yoke body, excitation coils, springs, brake discs, armature, spline sleeves, and manual release devices. Installed on the rear end of the motor,    adjust the mounting screw to make the air gap to the specified value; the splined sleeve is fixed on the shaft; the brake disc can slide axially on the splined sleeve and generate braking torque when braking.

Conditions of Using

This series of brakes can work reliably under the following conditions

Work under dry conditions;

In the surrounding medium, there is no risk of explosion and there is no gas and conductive dust sufficient to corrode metal and destroy insulation;

Working environment temperature -40 ~ +150 °C, friction plate and armature surface must not have oil, must be kept clean;

Insulation class B, protection class IP23, voltage fluctuation range not exceeding +5% and -15%;

The working air gap must not exceed the maximum working air gap. The main and driven sides of the brake must be fixed. No axial turbulence is allowed.

Installation: Axial vertical installation, the installation of the brake must ensure that the coaxial is not greater than 0.1mm;
